Washington, United States – Web Desk: Democratic U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren sharply criticized the Trump administration in the Senate, calling the ongoing conflict with Iran “illegal” and “based on lies.”
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer stated that after reviewing an intelligence committee briefing, he is increasingly concerned. Schumer said the administration has repeatedly changed its justification for the war—from regime change, to nuclear weapons threats, to missile defenses, to self-defense, and to aggressive action—indicating the absence of a coherent strategy.
Warren said that after a classified briefing, she concluded the administration has no concrete plan regarding Iran. She described the situation as worse than publicly understood and said she is deeply worried about the ongoing conflict, emphasizing that the war was provoked by Iran without direct threat to the U.S. She expressed outrage over the casualties and vowed to pursue every measure to end the conflict.
Meanwhile, Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal suggested the possibility that the United States could deploy ground troops to Iran, escalating U.S. involvement.
