Washington, United States – Web Desk: The United States House of Representatives has passed a resolution aimed at limiting President Donald Trump’s authority to take military action against Iran, amid rising tensions between the two countries.
According to U.S. media reports, the measure was introduced by Democratic lawmakers and passed with 215 votes in favor and 208 against. Four Republican lawmakers also joined Democrats in supporting the resolution.
Under the measure, any military action against Iran would require prior approval from Congress, reinforcing legislative oversight on matters of war powers.
The vote reflects growing concern within Congress over escalating tensions with Iran, with some lawmakers from Trump’s own Republican Party also expressing reservations.
