US Embassy in Riyadh Attacked as Iran-Israel Strikes Escalate

Date:

Tehran / Riyadh / Tel Aviv – Web Desk: Tensions in the Middle East escalated sharply as Iran, Israel, and the United States engaged in deadly attacks, leaving over 600 people dead across Iran and Lebanon.

Saudi authorities reported that two drones struck the U.S. embassy in Riyadh, causing limited fire and minor damage. Meanwhile, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, warning that any vessel passing through could be targeted. The strait handles nearly one-fifth of global oil shipments.

Israeli forces continued airstrikes on Tehran and Beirut, including targeting Iranian state media facilities. Iran retaliated by striking energy infrastructure in Gulf countries, causing oil and gas prices to surge globally. Qatar Energy temporarily halted LNG production at two facilities following Iranian attacks.

U.S. President Donald Trump stated the military campaign against Iran could last around four weeks and vowed to target Tehran’s missile and nuclear programs. Iran, meanwhile, rejected any negotiations with the U.S., calling Trump’s proposals “delusional” and maintaining its right to defend its sovereignty.

In response to the escalating crisis, multiple U.S. and Canadian embassies in the region have temporarily closed, including those in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Dubai. American citizens in 14 Middle Eastern countries have been urged to leave immediately due to the threat of missiles and drone attacks. Canadian authorities also advised citizens to evacuate Dubai and seek overland routes to safer locations.

Reports indicate that Iranian missile attacks have killed or injured at least 560 U.S. military personnel. Israeli airstrikes on Tehran, Beirut, and other regions continue, with citizens reporting loud explosions and heavy anti-aircraft fire lighting up the skies. Israel has extended its nationwide emergency until March 12, placing security forces on high alert.

Global leaders are calling for urgent diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation as the region teeters on the brink of broader conflict.
