Washington – Web Desk : The United States has announced the deployment of 5,000 additional troops along with several warships to the Middle East, amid escalating tensions in the region.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the deployment includes US Marines and military personnel, responding to concerns over Iranian threats in the Strait of Hormuz, including attacks on vessels and laying of naval mines.
The move comes at the request of US Central Command (CENTCOM), which is overseeing regional security operations.
In a parallel development, US B-2 bomber aircraft have begun missions targeting Iranian military and strategic infrastructure. CENTCOM officials stated that the airstrikes aim to degrade Iran’s ability to regain military strength in the future.
These coordinated measures reflect heightened US military readiness in the Persian Gulf amid ongoing regional instability.
