US Approves $8.6 Billion Weapons Sales to Israel, Gulf Allies

Date:

Washington, DC – Web Desk: The United States has approved the sale of more than $8.6 billion worth of military equipment to its Middle Eastern allies, including Israel, Qatar, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates, the State Department announced Thursday.

According to a statement released by the US State Department, the four nations will receive advanced defense systems and military hardware as part of the package.

The approval comes as the US-Israeli war against Iran has entered its ninth week, with a fragile ceasefire now in place for over three weeks. Analysts continue to describe the truce as tenuous, with little progress reported in diplomatic efforts to reach a lasting agreement.

Separately, President Donald Trump said he is holding telephone negotiations with Iran. However, he rejected Tehran’s latest proposal, expressing skepticism that any deal to end the war can be reached.

Analysts warn that increased arms supplies to the region could further escalate tensions, while prospects for resolving the conflict with Iran remain uncertain.

The weapons package is expected to include air defense systems, precision-guided munitions, and surveillance technology, though specific details have not been publicly disclosed. The sales must still clear congressional review, but formal objections are considered unlikely given strong bipartisan support for allied nations in the region.

Neither the Iranian government nor the affected Gulf states have officially responded to the announcement.
