US Airstrikes Resume Against Iran: Explosions Reported in Tehran, Bandar Abbas

Date:

WASHINGTON – Web Desk: The United States military has confirmed new airstrikes against Iran, with explosions heard once again in various areas including the capital Tehran, according to US Central Command (CENTCOM) and Iranian media reports.

Iranian media reported explosions in the southern city of Bandar Abbas as well, leading to tightened security measures in affected areas. Explosions were also heard in the Iranian cities of Serik and Minab. Iranian news agencies reported that air defense systems have been activated in western Tehran, though the nature of the explosions remains unclear.

CENTCOM stated in its announcement that military operations against Iran have been resumed, describing the strikes as being carried out in response to Iran’s continued and provocative actions. Prior to the strikes, President Donald Trump had adopted a tough stance on Iran, stating that Iran had been targeted the previous day and that further action would not be ruled out if necessary.
