Dubai, United Arab Emirates – Web Desk: The United Arab Emirates has temporarily closed all educational institutions and shifted to online learning amid heightened security concerns, according to official announcements.
The UAE Ministry of Education confirmed that nurseries, public schools, and private schools across the country will remain closed from May 5 to May 8, 2026. During this period, all academic activities will continue through digital platforms.
Authorities said the decision was taken due to recent regional tensions and security alerts, which triggered the country’s emergency response systems multiple times.
Students, teachers, and administrative staff have been instructed to participate in classes from home via online systems. The ministry emphasized that education will continue without interruption, though in a temporary digital format.
School administrations are maintaining regular communication with parents and students to ensure timely updates regarding any further changes.
Officials noted that institutions had already been advised to remain prepared for emergency situations, enabling a swift transition to remote learning.
The situation will be reviewed on May 8, after which authorities will decide whether to resume physical classes or continue with online education.
