UAE Rejects Iranian Plan for Strait of Hormuz Control

Date:

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – Web Desk: The United Arab Emirates has rejected what it described as an Iranian administrative framework related to the Strait of Hormuz, amid renewed regional maritime tensions.

Senior Emirati presidential adviser Anwar Gargash stated that the UAE firmly opposes any arrangement that affects maritime sovereignty in the strategic waterway.

He emphasized that there can be no compromise on maritime sovereignty, warning that Iran’s approach reflects a continuation of long-standing regional tensions.

Gargash further said that restoring trust in the region is only possible through responsible state behavior and adherence to good-neighbor principles. He urged Iran to respect the principles of coexistence with Arab Gulf countries.

The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world’s most critical energy transit routes, making security and governance in the area a persistent point of international concern.
