Pakistan’s Medal Hopes Brighten at Asian Junior Squash Championship

Panzhihua, China – Web Desk: Pakistan’s hopes of securing medals at the 33rd Asian Junior Individual Squash Championship received a major boost after seven players advanced to the quarter-finals in different categories.

The championship is currently underway in Panzhihua, China, where several Pakistani players delivered dominant performances in the junior squash tournament.

In the Boys Under-19 category, second seed Abdullah Nawaz defeated Kah Li in straight games to secure a quarter-final spot after a 29-minute contest.

In the Boys Under-17 event, Nauman Khan overcame China’s Han Lu in 38 minutes, while Muhammad Umair Arif defeated Rehan Muhammad in straight games within 25 minutes.

Top seed Ahmed Rayan Khalil dominated the Boys Under-15 category with a quick victory in just 16 minutes, while Sohail Adnan also advanced comfortably without dropping a game.

In the Boys Under-13 category, Muhammad Mustafa Khan fought hard to book his quarter-final berth after defeating Haroon in four games.

Meanwhile, the Girls Under-15 event featured a thrilling all-Pakistan clash between fourth seed Mah Noor Ali and her sister, eighth seed Sehrish Ali. After a tense 43-minute battle, Mah Noor Ali emerged victorious to secure her place in the quarter-finals.

Pakistan’s strong performances have significantly improved the country’s medal prospects at the continental junior squash championship.
