Tehran, Iran – Web Desk: At least two commercial vessels sailing from Iranian ports have successfully passed through the Strait of Hormuz despite reports of heightened US naval restrictions, according to maritime tracking data.
Data from shipping analytics firm Kpler indicates that the ships transited the strategic waterway shortly after the reported enforcement of US naval measures in the region.
According to Israeli media reports, a Liberia-flagged bulk carrier identified as Christiana had unloaded corn at Iran’s Bandar Imam Khomeini port before sailing through the Strait of Hormuz on Monday. The report suggests the vessel passed the chokepoint approximately two hours after the US measures were said to have taken effect.
Separately, a Comoros-flagged oil tanker, Ellipse, was also tracked near Larak Island before continuing its passage through the Strait.
Both vessels reportedly moved close to Iranian coastal waters while exiting one of the world’s most critical maritime trade routes.
The Strait of Hormuz remains a vital corridor for global energy shipments, and any disruption in the area is closely monitored by international shipping markets and energy analysts.
The developments come amid escalating geopolitical tensions in the Gulf region and ongoing uncertainty surrounding maritime security operations.
