Trump tells Netanyahu US won’t join strike on Iran

Date:

Washington, United States – Web Desk: U.S. President Donald Trump has reportedly informed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that the United States would not take part in any retaliatory military action against Iran following Tehran’s latest missile attack on Israel.

The development came after Iran launched missiles toward Israel on Sunday night in response to Israeli strikes on Beirut, Lebanon. Israeli military officials said air defense systems were activated to intercept the incoming missiles.

According to Israeli media reports, Trump and Netanyahu held a telephone conversation following the attack. During the call, Netanyahu reportedly informed the U.S. president of Israel’s intention to consider a response against Iran.

Israeli media reports said Trump made clear that while Washington remains closely engaged in regional developments, the United States would not participate in any direct military strike on Iran.

In a separate interview with the Financial Times, Trump said Netanyahu would ultimately have little choice but to accept a diplomatic agreement with Iran. The U.S. president also stressed that the recent missile exchanges had not changed Washington’s desire to complete ongoing negotiations with Tehran.

When asked about the possibility of diplomacy failing, Trump said the United States would consider alternative options, including a potential commando operation.

The latest developments come amid heightened tensions across the Middle East, with international leaders urging restraint to prevent a broader regional conflict.
