Trump Says Oil Prices to Drop After Iran Conflict Ends

Date:

Washington, United States – Web Desk: U.S. President Donald Trump said oil and gas prices could decline immediately after the end of the ongoing conflict involving Iran, as he addressed reporters at the Oval Office in the White House.

Speaking on the broader geopolitical situation, Trump said some observers consider the current tensions equivalent to a war, but maintained that the U.S. economy remains resilient, with stock markets reaching new highs. He contrasted this with Iran’s economy, which he said is under strain due to blockades limiting its revenue generation.

Trump also made a series of claims regarding military developments, including the destruction of a large portion of Iran’s missile production capabilities and damage to its naval and air assets. These claims could not be independently verified.

On Iran’s nuclear programme, Trump reiterated that the United States would not allow Tehran to acquire nuclear weapons, adding that while Iran may be interested in a deal, internal divisions have slowed negotiations.

He suggested that although he does not favor an immediate resumption of conflict, the option remains available if necessary. Trump also said that detailed information on negotiations is limited to a small group of officials.

Addressing global energy markets, Trump said that an end to tensions with Iran could lead to a drop in fuel prices, offering potential relief to consumers.

In addition, he said he had no objection to Iran participating in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, scheduled to be held across North America.

Trump also touched on U.S. military presence in Europe, saying a potential withdrawal from countries such as Italy and Spain was under consideration.
