Karachi, Pakistan – Web Desk: At least two people were killed and two others injured in separate shooting incidents in Karachi, police said on Thursday, with investigations underway into both cases.
In the first incident in Orangi Town, a man was killed and another injured near Banaras Biryani Centre. Police identified the deceased as 28-year-old Zainullah, while the injured, 25-year-old Dawood, is receiving medical treatment.
According to Station House Officer Khameeso Khan, initial investigations suggest the shooting stemmed from a personal dispute. The victims, who were cousins, were reportedly overseeing tile installation work when a verbal altercation escalated into gunfire. Authorities said the suspects are also relatives of the victims, and raids are underway to arrest those involved. Police recovered 9mm pistol casings from the scene.
In a separate incident near Port Qasim, one man was killed and his brother injured following a shooting near Chhapra Hotel in Ali Muhammad Goth. The deceased was identified as 25-year-old Muhammad Saleem, while his brother Rashid Ahmed, 26, was wounded.
Police said the incident may be linked to a prior dispute involving a stolen motorcycle. According to officials, the victims were engaged in discussions over the issue when an argument escalated into gunfire. Investigators noted inconsistencies in earlier statements and are continuing to probe the case.
Authorities have identified the suspects in both incidents and said efforts are ongoing to apprehend them.
