Trump Says Iran Talks Progress, Hormuz Shipping Plan

Date:

Web Desk: – US President Donald Trump has said that “positive talks” with Iran are ongoing and could produce a constructive outcome for all sides, as tensions in the Middle East continue to ease amid maritime disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz.

In a post shared on social media, Trump said his representatives are engaged in what he described as “very positive negotiations” with Iran, adding that diplomatic engagement “could prove extremely beneficial for everyone involved.”

The US President also announced the launch of a maritime initiative aimed at restoring safe movement of commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz starting Monday morning.

According to Trump, several countries had requested assistance after their ships became stranded in the strategic waterway amid regional tensions. He said the United States would begin efforts under what he called “Project Freedom” to help release trapped vessels and crews.

He added that affected ships belong to countries not directly involved in the ongoing regional conflict, stressing that the initiative is designed to provide humanitarian relief and protect global shipping.

Trump noted that many vessels are facing shortages of food and essential supplies due to delays in transit. He said the operation is intended to ensure safe passage for maritime traffic and support international trade stability.

However, the US President warned that any obstruction to the operation would be met with a “strong response,” without giving further details.

The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world’s most critical energy and trade routes, with any disruption raising concerns over global oil prices and supply chains.
