Washington, United States – Web Desk: An Israeli journalist has claimed that US President Donald Trump postponed a planned military strike on Iran after strong warnings from Gulf allies about the possible regional consequences of war.
According to Israeli journalist Barak Ravid, citing US sources, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates conveyed clear concerns to Washington that any attack on Iran could trigger major instability across the Gulf region and place critical oil and energy infrastructure at risk.
Media reports said Trump held urgent contacts over the past 24 hours with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Qatar’s Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
According to the report, leaders in Riyadh, Doha and Abu Dhabi jointly urged the US administration to prioritize diplomacy and ongoing negotiations instead of launching military action against Iran. Gulf officials reportedly warned that a wider regional conflict could endanger energy facilities and destabilize Middle East security.
The Israeli journalist further claimed that Trump briefed close advisers and senior officials supporting military action against Iran, telling them that Gulf allies wanted to avoid further escalation and damage to regional oil infrastructure.
Earlier, Trump stated on his social media platform Truth Social that a planned strike on Iran had been postponed following requests from Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the UAE. He said ongoing negotiations could still produce an agreement acceptable to the United States, the Middle East and the international community, while ensuring that Iran does not acquire nuclear weapons.
Trump also reportedly instructed US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Daniel Caine and the US military to suspend the planned operation for the time being.
