Trump Claims US Intervention Prevented India-Pakistan Nuclear Clash

Date:

Washington / Web Desk: US President Donald Trump claimed that timely American intervention prevented a potential nuclear confrontation between Pakistan and India, describing the conflict as dangerously close to escalation.

In an interview with US media, Trump said both countries were engaged in intense hostilities, during which ten aircraft were reportedly shot down. “Both nations were on the brink of an atomic conflict,” he said, emphasizing the severity of the situation.

Trump noted that the United States applied economic measures, including tariffs, to signal seriousness and help cool tensions, stating that the interventions were crucial to avoid catastrophic outcomes. “In my view, the fighting was extremely intense, and without prompt US action, the consequences could have been disastrous,” he said.

On the issue of Iran, Trump addressed the ongoing negotiations over the country’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs, stressing that Tehran should engage seriously. “Iran wants a deal with the US. Failing to do so would be foolish. The agreement must ensure regional stability and peace,” Trump added.

The former president’s remarks highlight the role he claims the United States played in preventing military escalation in South Asia and the importance of diplomatic engagement with Iran to secure regional security.

Analysts note that US influence and intervention in South Asia, including economic and diplomatic pressure, have historically played a role in de-escalating tensions, although critics argue the situation remains fragile and requires continued multilateral diplomacy.

Trump’s comments come amid ongoing global concerns over nuclear proliferation, regional conflicts, and the role of superpowers in maintaining peace, emphasizing the US position on deterrence and conflict prevention.
