Trump Claims Tariffs Prevented Wars, Highlights Iran Threats

Date:

Washington, United States – Web Desk: US President Donald Trump, in his first State of the Union address of his second term, claimed that his tariff policies helped prevent multiple wars, including a potential nuclear conflict between Pakistan and India. Despite imposing tariffs, Trump said countries remain eager to maintain trade deals with the United States.

Trump highlighted that the Pakistani Prime Minister acknowledged saving 35 million lives, attributing credit to his administration’s global policies. On Iran, he warned that the country is developing missiles capable of reaching the United States, adding that Washington is seeking a diplomatic solution while emphasizing his belief in “peace through strength.” He also referenced US interventions to halt executions of protesters in Iran and the killing of General Qassem Soleimani.

The president sharply criticized a recent Supreme Court ruling against tariffs and asserted that US borders are safer than ever. He claimed no illegal immigrants have entered the country in the past nine months and emphasized ongoing efforts to deport unauthorized migrants.

On the economic front, Trump claimed his second term has seen a significant reduction in inflation, a 60% drop in egg prices, and $1.8 trillion in investment commitments over the past year. He stated that the United States is stronger and more prosperous than ever, contrasting his administration’s successes with what he described as the near-collapse of the nation under former President Joe Biden.

During the address, Democratic Representatives Al Green and Ilhan Omar protested and attempted to display banners, prompting their removal from the chamber. Cabinet members, Congress members, and their families were present for the speech.
