Washington / Tehran – Web Desk – US President Donald Trump announced that American forces carried out what he described as the “most powerful strikes in Middle Eastern history” against Iran’s Kharg Island and other military targets, resulting in the complete destruction of all designated sites.
In a social media statement, Trump said the US Central Command executed the operations under his direct orders, targeting Iran’s military infrastructure and key strategic locations on Kharg Island. However, he clarified that Iran’s oil infrastructure was not targeted in this strike. Trump warned that if Iran or other actors interfered with free navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, the US might reconsider that decision.
Trump also announced the deployment of 5,000 additional troops and multiple warships to the region. Furthermore, B-2 bomber aircraft have been sent for follow-up operations.
Trump emphasized that Iran will never acquire nuclear weapons or pose a threat to the US, the Middle East, or the global community. “Iran’s plans to dominate the region or destroy Israel are now completely neutralized,” he said, urging Iranian military and government forces to surrender and safeguard their nation.
Kharg Island, located approximately 25 kilometers off the Iranian coast, handles nearly 90% of Iran’s crude oil exports to global markets.
