Washington / Tehran – Web Desk : The United States has claimed it carried out large-scale airstrikes on Iran’s strategic Kharg Island, one of the country’s most critical oil export hubs.
According to media reports, Donald Trump said the operation was conducted by the United States Central Command (CENTCOM), targeting military installations on the island.
Trump stated that the strikes destroyed all identified military targets on Kharg Island, describing the operation as “one of the most powerful bombardments in the history of the Middle East.”
Located in the Persian Gulf, Kharg Island serves as Iran’s most important oil export terminal, handling nearly 90 percent of the country’s crude oil exports.
The U.S. president noted that oil facilities were not targeted during the operation, but warned that they could be attacked if **Strait of Hormuz shipping routes are blocked by Iran.
The development comes amid rapidly escalating tensions in the Middle East, raising concerns about potential disruptions to global energy supplies and maritime security.
