Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk Authorities in Islamabad imposed heightened security measures on Friday ahead of Al-Quds Day rallies and Friday prayers, deploying thousands of police personnel and closing several key roads across the capital.
According to officials, more than 3,500 officers and personnel from the Islamabad Police have been deployed to maintain law and order during religious gatherings and processions marking Al-Quds Day.
Senior Superintendent of Police Muhammad Jawad Tariq said strict security arrangements had been implemented around major mosques and religious centers, including the iconic Faisal Mosque.
Authorities have also intensified security checks at all entry and exit points of the capital, establishing additional checkpoints and increasing patrols across the city.
Police said the measures are aimed at ensuring the safety of citizens and maintaining public order during the large gatherings expected for Friday prayers and Al-Quds Day demonstrations.
Traffic Plan and Road Closures
The Islamabad Traffic Police announced a special traffic management plan for Friday, March 13, 2026.
According to the traffic advisory, all entry and exit routes leading toward Iran Avenue have been closed for security reasons.
Authorities added that Red Zone will be accessible only via Margalla Road, while other routes leading into the area will remain closed.
Residents and commuters have been advised to use alternative routes and cooperate with law enforcement agencies during the security operation.
