Third LNG Tanker Nears Pakistan After Crossing Strait of Hormuz

Date:

Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: An LNG tanker carrying liquefied natural gas from Qatar has crossed the Strait of Hormuz and entered Pakistan’s territorial waters, marking the third consecutive shipment in less than two weeks.

According to details, the LNG vessel named “Fuwairit” is expected to dock at the Engro LNG Terminal on May 26 or 27. Petroleum Division officials have confirmed the development, adding that another LNG vessel is also expected to arrive in the coming days and will berth at the Pakistan GasPort Consortium Limited (PGPCL) terminal.

Officials say the latest LNG shipment is expected to play a key role in easing Pakistan’s ongoing energy shortages and supporting domestic gas supply.

Earlier, on May 15, the LNG carrier “Mehzam” berthed at the PGPCL Terminal 12 at Port Qasim, delivering around 160,000 cubic meters of liquefied natural gas.

Two days before that, on May 13, another Q-Flex LNG vessel named “Al Kharsaah” had already arrived at the Engro terminal, indicating a steady flow of energy imports to Pakistan.
