PCB yet to officially confirm India match boycott, ICC seeks behind-the-scenes resolution
Karachi, Pakistan – Web Desk: With less than three days to go for the T20 World Cup, Pakistan’s silence over its India match boycott is increasing tension within the International Cricket Council (ICC).
Sources say ICC officials are awaiting official communication from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) regarding the boycott. PCB insiders confirm that following the government’s announcement, there is no need to repeat the stance officially.
Indian media reports indicate that ICC had faced a similar issue during the Champions Trophy, when India did not submit a government letter to participate. The global cricket governing body is reportedly exploring backchannel talks to resolve the issue quietly. Deputy Chairman Imran Khawaja has been tasked with liaising with Pakistan to find a resolution ahead of the tournament.
