Karachi(Staff Reporter: Sindh Senior Minister and Provincial Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit, Sharjeel Inam Memon, announced that the world’s largest housing initiative — the Sindh People’s Family Housing (SPFH) program — has expanded beyond a scheme and transformed into a social revolution.
Memon stated that verification of two million people has been completed, 1.5 million accounts have been opened, and construction of 650,000 houses is nearing completion. The program has already created employment for one million individuals and granted land ownership to 900,000 women, marking a milestone in social empowerment.
He further revealed that ₨38 billion has been allocated for clean water and drainage projects in Karachi, with funds released for major initiatives including K-4, Hub, storm water drains, and KWSSIP-II. The Sindh government has approved 293 schemes in water, sanitation, and municipal services, with the Chief Minister directing timely release of funds for all ongoing projects.
Progress also continues on infrastructure development, with 620 road projects reviewed and rehabilitation of 970 kilometers of roads underway. The Korangi Causeway Bridge, related underpasses, and the Lyari Transformation Project are close to completion.
Highlighting new initiatives, Memon said the government has approved an increase in electric bikes for working women and female students, while renewable energy projects worth ₨25 billion, including the Sindh Solar Energy Project, have begun implementation.
He emphasized that the Sindh government’s vision is rooted in stability, prosperity, and equality, and ongoing development across the province reflects this commitment.
