Mumbai, India – Web Desk: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a leadership change in its T20 international setup, appointing Shreyas Iyer as the new captain of the national T20 team.
According to the announcement, Suryakumar Yadav has been removed from the T20 captaincy role as the board finalised squads for upcoming international tours.
The BCCI confirmed that Shreyas Iyer will lead India in the T20 series against Ireland and England, as well as at the Asian Games, where he will also serve as captain of the squad.
The board also announced India’s T20 squads for the Ireland tour, England series, and the Asian Games, marking a significant reshuffle in leadership ahead of a busy international calendar.
Officials said the decision reflects long-term planning for India’s T20 structure as the team prepares for major upcoming tournaments.
