RAWALPINDI – Web Desk: Security forces have killed 22 terrorists belonging to Fitna Al-Khawarij during an ongoing clearance and sanitization operation in the Shewa area of North Waziristan district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The operation, which began on May 17, has seen security forces effectively target Khawarij hideouts. Over the past 24 hours, 22 terrorists were eliminated, and a cache of weapons and ammunition was recovered from their possession. The killed Khwarij were involved in multiple terrorist activities in the region, the military’s media wing stated.
Evidence recovered during the operation also confirmed that the Khwarij had kept the local population under their influence through threats and coercion. ISPR added that the terrorists used local civilians as human shields for safe movement, warning that “innocent citizens’ lives will never be allowed to be put at risk.”
The clearance operation continues in the area, with security forces maintaining an effective cordon around the region.
