Security forces successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt by militants exploiting the Pakistan-Afghanistan ceasefire. In a major operation in Mohmand district, 45 to 50 militants were killed while trying to cross into Pakistan from Afghanistan.
According to security sources, the operation was based on intelligence reports and targeted a large group of militants. Several were also injured during the exchange of fire, which lasted several hours. The Pakistan Army has since launched a full clearance operation in the area.
Footage reportedly shows militant movement prior to the operation. The killed individuals were allegedly planning terrorist activities inside Pakistan.
