Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts over the ongoing US-Iran conflict continue to intensify, with the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Egypt expected to visit Pakistan later this week, diplomatic sources said.
According to officials familiar with the matter, the proposed visit is aimed at discussing regional tensions, ceasefire possibilities and broader diplomatic coordination amid the escalating crisis involving Iran and the United States.
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said the meeting was initially planned to take place in Türkiye, but was later shifted to Pakistan as “our Pakistani brothers needed to remain in the country.”
He added that the meeting could take place in Pakistan by the end of this week.
Fidan also said that if Washington succeeds in facilitating negotiations with Iran or reaches any understanding, it must also be prepared to use its influence over Israel.
Separately, US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff said a meeting with Iran is expected this week, adding that Washington is awaiting Tehran’s response to a 15-point proposal.
The diplomatic developments come as regional and international powers intensify efforts to prevent further escalation in the Middle East.
