Russia Starts Earning Millions by Printing Ads on Space Rockets

Date:

MOSCOW – Web Desk: Russia has started earning millions of rubles by printing advertisements on its space rockets, following a landmark decision by the Russian parliament last year.

The State Duma passed a bill authorizing Roscosmos, the country’s space agency, to display logos and slogans of major brands on its rockets in exchange for compensation. The agency has now completed its first advertising campaign featuring multiple national brands.

According to details, Roscosmos began displaying advertisements on its space rockets in January of this year and has already earned millions of rubles from private companies.

The cost of advertisements is determined through a specific formula that takes into account the placement of the ad, the size of the rocket’s surface area, and the duration of the campaign. Industry observers believe these marketing efforts could lead to high-profile public relations opportunities for both the space agency and the brands involved.
