RLNG Reserves Rapidly Depleting, Gas Crisis Deepens Across Pakistan

Date:

LAHORE – Web Desk: Pakistan’s gas crisis has worsened due to a shortfall in Re-gasified Liquefied Natural Gas (RLNG) supplies, with reserves depleting rapidly, sources at Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) said.

According to sources, RLNG reserves are running out quickly, and gas supply to the power and fertilizer sectors has dropped to minimum levels. Domestic consumers have also faced supply cuts.

Gas supply has fallen to just 700 million cubic feet per day (mmcfd), compared to 1,200 mmcfd before the Iran-US war, sources added. The gas shortfall has now exceeded 600 mmcfd.

Meanwhile, Sui Gas officials maintained that full gas supply is being provided during all three mealtimes.
