(Web Desk) – Police in Rawalpindi have registered a triple murder case after a man and his two wives were shot dead inside a house in the Qasimabad area, with investigators citing a family dispute linked to a controversial marriage as the suspected motive.
According to officials, the Nasirabad police station registered a First Information Report (FIR) under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code against three named suspects. The case was filed on behalf of the state following the fatal shooting incident that shocked residents earlier this week.
Police identified the suspects as Shahryar, Sajid, and Muzammil Mushtaq. Authorities allege that the accused opened fire, killing the victim, identified as Hussain — also known as Hassan alias Badshah — along with his two wives, Noor and Nida.
Investigators said the killings were allegedly triggered by a dispute stemming from the victim’s decision to marry his daughter’s sister-in-law, a move that reportedly caused tensions within the extended family. Law enforcement officials believe the disagreement escalated into violence, resulting in the deadly attack.
Following the shooting, the suspects fled the scene. Police confirmed that raids are underway to arrest the accused and that further investigation is ongoing to determine additional details and potential accomplices.
The incident took place on Wednesday night when gunfire erupted inside a residence in Qasimabad. Initial reports suggested that the attack was related to a family or relationship dispute, with early statements from the victim’s son alleging that relatives who had traveled from a village were responsible.
Triple homicide cases linked to domestic or familial disputes remain a significant concern for law enforcement agencies across Pakistan, highlighting ongoing challenges in addressing interpersonal conflicts that escalate into violence.
Authorities have urged witnesses to cooperate with investigators as efforts continue to bring the suspects into custody.
