Dubai, Web Desk – Afghanistan’s star leg-spinner Rashid Khan has become the first bowler in history to take 700 wickets in T20 cricket, reaching the landmark during a T20 World Cup match against the United Arab Emirates.
Rashid achieved the milestone with a wicket in the match, further cementing his status as one of the greatest T20 bowlers of all time.
In the all-time T20 wicket-taking list, West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo is second with 631 wickets, a mark Rashid surpassed in February 2025. West Indies spinner Sunil Narine ranks third with 613 wickets.
Rashid Khan also holds the record for the most wickets in T20 Internationals, with 191 dismissals. New Zealand pacer Tim Southee is second with 164 wickets, followed by fellow New Zealand spinner Ish Sodhi with 162.
The record highlights Rashid Khan’s dominance in franchise leagues and international cricket, where his variations and control have consistently troubled batters across formats.
