Quetta Goes Offline for 24 Hours Amid Security Alert

QUETTA – In view of the security situation in Quetta, mobile internet services have been suspended for 24 hours.

According to the Home Department of Balochistan, mobile internet and data services across the district will remain suspended until midnight tonight.

The official notification stated that the move has been taken to strengthen and enhance security measures, and the suspension will apply to the entire Quetta district.

In a letter addressed to the Ministry of Interior and dated October 30, the Balochistan government directed the relevant authorities to suspend 3G/4G internet services in Quetta on October 31 (today) for 24 hours.

“Owing to the peculiar law and order situation and threat perceptions, the services of 3G and 4G services are required to be jammed in district Quetta,” the letter said.
