Beijing, China – Web Desk: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for China’s core national interests, including the One China Policy, during a high-level meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing.
The meeting took place as part of celebrations marking 75 years of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China. Senior officials including Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Field Marshal Asim Munir were also present.
The prime minister expressed gratitude for the warm reception and reiterated that Pakistan-China strategic cooperation remains a cornerstone of Islamabad’s foreign policy. He said the iron-clad friendship between the two countries has gained greater strategic importance amid shifting regional and global dynamics.
Sharif appreciated China’s continued support for Pakistan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, economic stability and national development. He also praised President Xi’s leadership and vision, crediting him for transforming China into a global economic and technological power.
He highlighted China’s global initiatives, including the Belt and Road Initiative, Global Development Initiative, Global Security Initiative, Global Civilization Initiative and Global Governance Initiative, noting Pakistan’s full support for the vision of a “community with a shared future for mankind.”
The prime minister emphasized deeper strategic coordination, advancement of CPEC, and alignment of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan with Pakistan’s “Uraan Pakistan” program to boost cooperation in industrialization, connectivity, technology, agriculture, renewable energy and digital transformation.
President Xi Jinping said China and Pakistan share an “unbreakable traditional friendship” built on mutual trust and cooperation, adding that Beijing will always prioritize relations with Islamabad.
Both leaders agreed to further elevate bilateral ties into a new phase of strategic and future-oriented cooperation.
