Sadiqabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) President Asif Ali Zardari launched a sharp critique of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan on Sunday, claiming Khan had once threatened him at gunpoint and is now seeking excuses while in jail.
Addressing a workers’ convention in Sadiqabad, Zardari emphasized that leadership comes to those who stand firm with their people. He highlighted the PPP’s commitment to promoting its members, noting that ordinary workers like Yusuf Raza Gilani and Makhdoom Ahmed Mahmood rose to the positions of Prime Minister and Governor, respectively.
Speaking on the resilience required in politics, the president remarked, “Jail is served like men; crying achieves nothing,” referring to the 24-year struggle of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, who spent five years imprisoned in Sukkur Jail. He described her as the fearless daughter of Shaheed Bhutto, destined for martyrdom.
In a notable announcement, Zardari stated that the Sindh government would establish a university in the Kacha areas of Punjab and expressed his desire for a medical university there. He added that presidential approval for the university would be granted and assured it would be provided.
