Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is set to participate in the upcoming Gaza Peace Board meeting in the United States, accompanied by Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and a high-level delegation, the Foreign Office confirmed.
During a weekly press briefing, Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andarabi said the Prime Minister will meet with US President Donald Trump as part of his US visit, highlighting Pakistan’s engagement on regional security matters and peace initiatives.
The spokesperson also briefed media on Pakistan’s recent intelligence sharing with global partners regarding the presence of ISIS in Afghanistan, warning that the mastermind behind attacks targeting regional stability remains in the country. Andarabi reaffirmed Pakistan’s right to defend itself against threats and stressed the importance of coordinated international action against terrorism.
On bilateral issues, the Foreign Office spokesperson stated that Pakistan has sought detailed information from India regarding the construction of new dams. He urged India to refrain from unilateral measures and emphasized that it remains bound by the Indus Waters Treaty.
Addressing sports diplomacy, Andarabi said Pakistan’s decision not to play cricket against Bangladesh should not be seen as politicization of the sport, but as a measure to prevent its exploitation by India for strategic or political purposes. “India is attempting to use cricket as a tool against Pakistan,” he added.
The visit, which includes high-level discussions on regional security, counterterrorism, and bilateral water-sharing issues, reflects Pakistan’s efforts to engage international partners in promoting peace and stability in South Asia and the Middle East.
