Web Desk | Islamabad, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif departed on a brief but urgent official visit to Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, responding to an invitation from Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar accompanied him.
According to Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Hasan Andrabi, the meetings will focus on ongoing regional tensions, security concerns in the Middle East, and strengthening bilateral ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
The spokesperson described the visit as highly significant, emphasizing that it forms part of Pakistan’s continued efforts for regional peace, ceasefire initiatives, and diplomatic engagement. “Pakistan stands with Saudi Arabia at all times and will provide support whenever necessary,” he added.
In related diplomatic developments, Iranian President spoke with Prime Minister Sharif, assuring that Iran does not intend to engage Pakistan in regional disputes.
The visit underscores Pakistan’s role as a proactive mediator and its commitment to fostering stability in the region while maintaining strong relations with key Gulf partners.
