Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has extended congratulations to Iraq’s newly appointed Prime Minister, expressing Pakistan’s desire to further strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation between the two countries.
In a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the prime minister congratulated Iraq’s new leader, Ali Al-Zaid, on assuming office and conveyed best wishes for his tenure.
He said Pakistan is keen to work closely with the new Iraqi government to enhance cooperation in multiple sectors, including diplomacy, trade, and regional development.
Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that Pakistan and Iraq share longstanding fraternal ties and reiterated commitment to advancing mutual goals of peace, stability, and prosperity in the region.
The prime minister expressed hope that bilateral relations would continue to grow stronger in the coming years through sustained engagement and collaboration.
Officials said Pakistan views Iraq as an important regional partner and aims to deepen institutional and economic cooperation under the new leadership.
