Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan played a significant role in promoting peace during the recent regional crisis, highlighting the country’s diplomatic efforts to support dialogue and stability.
Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Speaking at the Pakistan-China Pharmaceutical B2B Investment Conference in Islamabad, the prime minister said Pakistan acted as a mediator between Iran and the United States through the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, adding that the Field Marshal’s efforts in the reconciliation process would be remembered in history.
Shehbaz Sharif also described China as Pakistan’s most trusted and sincere partner, reaffirming that the security of Chinese nationals working in Pakistan remains the government’s top priority.
The prime minister welcomed pharmaceutical agreements worth more than $440 million, saying the investment marks another important step in advancing CPEC 2.0 and strengthening economic cooperation between Pakistan and China.
Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong said Pakistan’s economy is improving under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership and reaffirmed Beijing’s continued support for peace and stability in the region. He also highlighted the significant growth potential of Pakistan’s healthcare sector.
Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal said the conference reflected the prime minister’s vision of promoting investment and strengthening Pakistan’s healthcare industry, while Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Haroon Akhtar said the premier’s recent visit to China had opened a new chapter in economic cooperation, investment, technology transfer, and industrial collaboration.
