PM Shehbaz: India’s Role in Pakistan Terrorism ‘Absolutely Clear’

Date:

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said India’s involvement in terrorist activities inside Pakistan is evident, while blaming the Afghan regime for failing to curb militants.

Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Friday that India’s involvement in terrorist activities carried out inside Pakistan is absolutely clear, while addressing participants of a national workshop on Balochistan.

Speaking at the event, the prime minister described Balochistan as Pakistan’s largest province by area and its least populated, noting that the province’s leadership has consistently set aside personal and political differences to support the federation. He said the people of Balochistan played a central role in the creation of Pakistan and that their contributions to the country’s history should not be forgotten.

Shehbaz Sharif said nearly 90,000 people have been martyred in Pakistan’s war against terrorism, adding that a sessions judge was killed in Mastung the previous day. He said the sacrifices made by the people of Balochistan would not go in vain and that the province’s suffering would be met with continued resolve from the state.

The prime minister said India’s hand in terrorist activities within Pakistan is now completely evident, and that the Afghan regime has entirely failed to prevent militant groups from operating from its territory. He added that Pakistan continues to engage with its western neighbour in an effort to convey the seriousness of the threat and encourage a change in approach.

According to Shehbaz Sharif, terrorism had been almost entirely eliminated from the country at one point, before returning under what he described as an organised conspiracy. He said confronting this renewed wave of violence would require a collective national effort, and that the country must now focus on accelerating its development, with all four provinces contributing equally to that progress.

The prime minister also pointed to recent successes for Pakistan on the international stage, praising the efforts of Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. He said Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts toward regional peace are increasingly being recognised and valued by the international community.
