VIENNA: (Web Desk) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has arrived in Vienna, Austria, on a two-day official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral relations, enhancing economic cooperation, and promoting trade and investment opportunities between the two countries. The visit comes at the invitation of Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker.
Upon arrival at Vienna International Airport, the prime minister and the accompanying Pakistani delegation were warmly received, while the Austrian armed forces presented a guard of honor to mark the occasion. The visit reflects Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic engagement with European partners to expand economic collaboration and deepen strategic ties.
During his stay, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to hold delegation-level talks with Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker. The discussions are expected to focus on boosting trade relations, exploring investment opportunities, and strengthening cooperation across various sectors of mutual interest.
A key highlight of the visit will be a joint meeting chaired by both leaders alongside prominent business figures from Pakistan and Austria. The session aims to facilitate direct interaction between investors and industry representatives, encouraging partnerships that could enhance bilateral trade and economic growth.
The prime minister will also attend and address the Pakistan-Austria Business Forum, where he is expected to highlight Pakistan’s economic potential, investment climate, and opportunities for foreign investors. Additionally, he will deliver a speech at a special United Nations event in Vienna centered on “Sustainable Development: The Path to Global Peace and Prosperity.”
As part of his diplomatic engagements, Shehbaz Sharif will meet the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to discuss matters related to peaceful nuclear cooperation and global security issues.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi are accompanying the prime minister during the visit. Officials hope the trip will pave the way for stronger economic ties and expanded cooperation between Pakistan and Austria.
