ISLAMABAD, Pakistan – Web Desk: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised Pakistan’s security forces following an operation in Khyber District that killed 22 militants.
In a statement, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commended the professionalism of security personnel involved in the operation and expressed grief over the death of a 10-year-old child who was killed during indiscriminate firing by militants, according to military officials.
He said Pakistan would continue its fight against terrorism until militant threats are completely eliminated from the country.
“The entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with the security forces in the fight against terrorism,” the prime minister said.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also praised the armed forces and law enforcement agencies for what he described as a successful operation.
He said the country’s security institutions remain committed to eliminating militant groups and added that the nation takes pride in the sacrifices of its forces.
Naqvi also extended condolences to the family of the child killed during the incident.
The statements came after Pakistan’s military announced that 22 militants were killed during an intelligence-based operation in Khyber district.
