Date:

RAWALPINDI, Pakistan – Web Desk: Pakistan’s security forces said they killed 22 militants during an intelligence-based operation in Khyber District, according to a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations.

The military said the joint operation was conducted on April 21, 2026, after receiving intelligence reports regarding the presence of militants in the area.

According to the statement, security forces and law enforcement agencies engaged in a heavy exchange of fire during the raid, resulting in the deaths of 22 militants.

The military alleged that the militants were involved in multiple attacks in the region and said weapons and ammunition were recovered during the operation.

ISPR also said that during the operation, militants opened indiscriminate fire in an attempt to avoid arrest, which resulted in the death of a 10-year-old child.

A search and clearance operation remains underway to eliminate any remaining militants in the area.

Pakistan’s security forces said operations against militant groups will continue under the country’s broader counterterrorism strategy.
