Plea filed in IHC seeking transfer of Imran Khan from Adiala Jail

Date:

LAHORE: A miscellaneous application was filed in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday, seeking the transfer of former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan from Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi to a ‘secure’ place

Filed by Muhammad Qayyum Khan, a resident of Gilgit-Baltistan, the petition stated that Imran Khan was not only the founder of the country’s most popular party, which enjoyed the support of 90 per cent of Pakistanis, but was also a former prime minister.

“There are serious threats to his life in Adiala Jail,” said the petitioner, adding that not only should the case be fixed for hearing at the earliest, but a full court should also be formed for the purpose.
