PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi confirms final call on Pakistan’s T20 World Cup spot in coming days
Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is set to finalize the national team’s participation in the upcoming T20 World Cup within the next few days. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi stated that a definitive decision will be announced by Friday or next Monday following consultations with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
During the meeting with the Prime Minister, Naqvi briefed him on ICC matters, including potential protest options such as boycotting the event over Bangladesh’s exclusion, refusing to play against India, or wearing black armbands in matches. The discussions also included recognizing Bangladesh cricket fans in case of Pakistan’s victories.
Naqvi emphasized that Pakistan supports Bangladesh’s principled stance on security concerns in India but rejects ICC’s double standards, as Scotland replaced Bangladesh in the tournament. The PCB remains committed to fair play and upholding cricketing principles.
