Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Pakistan’s Foreign Office has warned that any further provocations by the Taliban authorities or terrorist groups operating from Afghan territory will be met with a strong response.
Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi, commenting on Operation “Ghazab Lil Haq,” said defensive actions were carried out in response to terrorist attacks and cross-border provocations originating from Afghan soil.
He stated that the operations inflicted significant losses on militant organizations and targeted their hideouts. Pakistan, he said, acted under its right to self-defense to protect its citizens and ensure regional security.
The spokesperson emphasized that while Pakistan seeks peace and stability in the region, it will not tolerate continued aggression. Diplomatic efforts regarding counterterrorism remain ongoing, he added.
The Foreign Office further stated that Pakistan’s goodwill gestures had been misinterpreted, leading to an increase in attacks from across the border. Islamabad called on Afghan authorities to immediately curb the activities of militant groups operating against Pakistan.
Andrabi also urged the international community to press the Taliban government to take concrete action against terrorist networks. He reiterated that Pakistan reserves the right to take all appropriate measures in self-defense under the United Nations Charter.
The statement comes amid heightened Pakistan-Afghanistan border tensions and renewed diplomatic engagement over regional security.
