QUETTA — Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to eradicating terrorism, praising the country’s security forces for their continued success in counterterrorism operations. His remarks follow a major operation in the Daraban area of Dera Ismail Khan, where a senior officer, Major Sibtain Haider, was martyred.
Bugti stated that the people of Balochistan stand “shoulder to shoulder” with the Pakistan Army, saluting the sacrifices made by the nation’s martyrs. “Major Sibtain Haider, a brave son of Quetta, laid down his life defending the motherland with courage and honour,” he said. “The nation is proud of him and his legacy.”
The Chief Minister emphasized that the sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces have set a new standard of bravery and will not be forgotten. He added that successful military operations are strengthening national resolve to eliminate terrorism and restore peace across the country.
Bugti’s statement comes amid heightened security efforts in Pakistan’s northwest, where militant activity has seen a resurgence in recent months. The government continues to rely on intelligence-based operations and regional cooperation to counter threats and maintain stability.
