Pakistan Stock Surges 2,200 Points After Trump Delays Iran Strike

Date:

Karachi, Pakistan – Web Desk: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a dramatic rally today after U.S. President Donald Trump announced the temporary postponement of a planned military strike on Iran, easing regional geopolitical tensions.

On the second trading day of the business week, the benchmark KSE-100 index surged by as much as 2,248 points, reaching a level of 164,053 points. The sharp uptick reflects renewed investor confidence following Trump’s announcement that the strike—originally scheduled for Tuesday—was being delayed at the request of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates.

Market analysts attributed the bullish trend to reduced fears of a broader regional conflict, which had previously weighed heavily on investor sentiment across South Asian and Gulf markets.

In parallel, the Pakistani rupee showed modest strength in the interbank market. The dollar declined by 3 paisas, trading at 278.57 rupees, compared to its previous close of 278.60 rupees.

President Trump had stated that Iran now has “the best chance for a deal” and emphasized that any final agreement must ensure Iran does not acquire nuclear weapons. The postponement of military action has been widely interpreted as a diplomatic window that markets have welcomed with cautious optimism.
