Pakistan Reports Sufficient Petroleum Stocks Amid Regional Supply Monitoring

Date:

Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: The government’s committee monitoring petroleum supplies has confirmed that sufficient stocks of petroleum products are available in the country and that there is no immediate risk of shortages.

Authorities emphasized that supply chains remain stable despite evolving regional conditions. The committee, formed to oversee energy logistics, reviewed global oil prices, freight costs, and insurance premiums as part of its assessment of international market dynamics.

A meeting chaired by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb examined the status of the oil supply chain and discussed strategies to ensure continued availability of petroleum products. Officials stated that daily monitoring of energy markets will continue, with recommendations to be forwarded to the prime minister.

The committee also resolved to intensify measures against hoarding, illegal storage, and smuggling to prevent disruptions in domestic distribution. Joint coordination between provincial governments and the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority was highlighted as essential for effective oversight.

Government representatives confirmed that efforts are underway to secure alternative supply routes and additional imports from friendly countries to safeguard energy stability. Authorities reiterated that uninterrupted fuel availability remains a priority.

The committee will present its final recommendations and implementation framework to the prime minister, with further daily meetings planned to evaluate evolving conditions. Measures to encourage efficient fuel usage and mitigate potential external pressures are also under consideration.

Officials stated that emergency and contingency plans have been reviewed to strengthen energy resilience in the face of global market fluctuations.
