Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – Web Desk: Pakistan Navy Chief Admiral Naveed Ashraf conducted an official visit to Malaysia, meeting the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) leadership to enhance operational cooperation, maritime security, and regional stability.
The visit began at the Royal Malaysian Navy Headquarters, where Admiral Tan Sri (Dr) Zulhelmy bin Ithnain welcomed Admiral Naveed Ashraf with a guard of honour. Both leaders discussed aligning strategic approaches in the rapidly evolving maritime environment, agreed to strengthen operational collaboration, improve capabilities, and coordinate responses to emerging maritime security challenges.
Admiral Naveed Ashraf highlighted the Pakistan Navy’s key role in regional stability through participation in regional maritime security patrols and Combined Maritime Forces. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment as a responsible maritime nation in maintaining peace and security in the region.
The Pakistan Navy Chief also visited the National Hydrographic Centre, receiving briefings on its technical capabilities and role in maritime safety. Emphasizing hydrography as the foundation of effective naval operations, he called for stronger institutional ties between Malaysia’s National Hydrographic Centre and Pakistan’s National Hydrographic Office (NHO), particularly in professional training and data exchange.
