Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – Web Desk: Pakistan Navy Chief Admiral Naveed Ashraf paid an official visit to Malaysia and held high-level talks with Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) leadership to enhance maritime security cooperation, naval diplomacy, and regional stability.
According to official sources, Admiral Naveed Ashraf was received with a guard of honour at the Royal Malaysian Navy Headquarters by RMN Chief Admiral Tan Sri (Dr) Zulhelmy bin Ithnain. The discussions focused on aligning strategic perspectives in an increasingly complex maritime environment, boosting operational collaboration, capacity building, and coordinated responses to emerging maritime security challenges.
Admiral Naveed Ashraf highlighted Pakistan Navy’s key role in ensuring regional stability through active participation in regional maritime security patrols and Combined Maritime Forces (CMF). He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment as a responsible maritime nation to maintaining peace and security in the region.
The Pakistan Navy Chief also visited the National Hydrographic Centre, where he was briefed on its technical capabilities and role in maritime safety. Emphasizing the importance of hydrography in effective naval operations, he stressed strengthening institutional ties between Malaysia’s National Hydrographic Centre and Pakistan’s National Hydrographic Office (NHO), particularly in training and data exchange.
The visit marks a significant milestone in strengthening Pakistan–Malaysia naval relations, paving the way for a more integrated, cooperative, and future-oriented maritime partnership.
